I love how announcers come up with statistics you would never have thought of (i.e. John Smith has never allowed a run when pitching to lefties during day games at home while the bases are loaded with less than two outs).
I love how no one can tell me who the first black man to play football or basketball was... but everyone knows Jackie Robinson.

I love how records held by legends are being broken by today's future legends.

I love the sound of a line drive canon of a throw from the outfield screaming into the cather's mitt split seconds before the base runner plows his shoulder into the catcher's chest protector... the crowd groans with anticipation as the home plate umpire winds up for the punch out.

I love how the greatest players fail 7 out of 10 times... and the legendary players fail 6 1/2 out of 10.
I love that I purchased a new Yankees hat each year for 15+ years in a row.
I can't wait until Spring Training!

Mitch, I seriously hope for the sake of your personal sanity that all of your sons are as fondly attached to baseball as you are.
