Eating With Your Hands

Derek is getting to the point where he doesn't like to be fed by someone else. He wants to do it himself. He's eating a lot of things by himself... Spaghetti is my favorite so far. What is your kid's favorite messy food to eat by himself/herself?

I LOVE IT!

Although Thomas is better at eating spaghetti now, any cake product, in particular cupcakes, can turn the kitchen into something reminiscent of an exploded cake factory pretty fast. Those crumbs get everywhere and they are sticky.

Funny. We'll find out about how Derek reacts to cake in a couple weeks.

Do you just hose him off afterwards? I can only imagine the fuss that comes from trying to wipe down a face like that with a moist wipe.

Great pictures.

I'm pretty sure we wiped him down a little... but he went straight into the tub after that dinner.

Wow! That's how to eat a meal! There comes a point as a parent when you just give in and let them 'play in the mud'...I want to know if dad helped clean up???

Mom took him to the bath and Dad had wipe down the high chair duty.

Okay, I'll tell you Brock's favorite thing and this just happened yesterday! I had some leftover frosting from Annika's birthday cake in some tupperware in the fridge. Well, Brock (who's not quite two) discovered it and took the tupperware in the backyard (where I wouldn't find him). When I did go and check on him he was on the porch swing with a fistful of frosting in the mouth. Later that very day I heard the laundry room door close. When I went in I saw Brock sitting on a pile of dirty laundry eating that frosting again! What a sneaky guy.
