One of my favorite memories is when he came to Argentina when I was down there on my mission. The excitement leading up to his visit was so much fun. Then going to a soccer stadium FULL of faithful latter day saints singing together was amazing. I know the Argentines didn't catch all of his wit (the gringo missionaries would laugh before things got translated)... but they did grasp his love for them and his love for Him.
What's one of your favorite memories of President Hinckley?

I'm so glad you put this on your blog. I thought about it but decided not to.
I remember his "Be" talk. He opened it by saying something like "Usually your parents tell you to get As. Well I'm telling you something different tonight. I want you to aim for Be's...." It was so great. So simple, yet so exact.
Part of me feels like crying because Pres Hinckley was my prophet, but most of me feels happy he's with his wife again. What a great man. We're lucky to have had him.
I remember always being in awe as he stood up at the end of conference and said he was going to try to be a better person. He was so humble and I will really miss him.
I also remember when President Hinckley came to visit the lowly Canary Islands while I was on my mission. Looking back now, growing up in Utah I didn't truly realize what a great blessing being so close to the prophet was while seeing him in person on almost a yearly basis. In the Islands, however, to see the excitement of the members was an amazing experience. Waving the white handkercheifs while he exited was an amazing site.
He was a man that demonstrated true love and devotion to everyone he met and you could feel his love for you when you saw his eyes.
Same thing. I loved it when he was waving the white flag as is the custom. Or when he joked about the Buenos Aires air.
I loved that conference when he made his entrance bopping the twelve apostles on the head with his cane. I also just loved that you could feel his love for the members of the church in everything he said. This conference will be a little sad I think. It will actually set in at that point. But you're right...he gets to be with his wife again and he's much happier now. Selfishly, though, I'm sad to see him go.
